Where science meets feeling
From forensic chemistry to ritual creation.
I am Darine.
A chemist by discipline, and an artist by instinct.
For more than fifteen years, my world was built on precision.
I taught chemistry, biology, and physics.
I led science departments across Lebanon and Dubai.
I then stepped into a different kind of laboratory—
forensic science.
For over fifteen years, I worked as a forensic chemist in drug and medical analysis.
My work focused on identifying and analyzing unknown substances —
from controlled drugs and synthetic compounds
to explosive materials and chemical residues.
I investigated trace evidence, determined the composition of substances,
and contributed to cases involving drug trafficking, border control, and post-blast analysis.
I worked with both organic and inorganic chemistry
to understand what could not be seen —
to give structure, meaning, and truth to the unknown.
Working in a world where precision was not optional — it was critical.
Science taught me how to understand what exists.
But something in me kept searching for what cannot be measured.
Luna was not created in a single moment.
It was born between knowledge and feeling.
And it was named after someone who is part of both.
Luna comes from Selena—my daughter’s name—
inspired by the Greek goddess of the moon,
and reflected in Luna, its Roman echo.
She is not just the inspiration behind the name.
She is part of the creation itself.
It was her idea to begin.
And though she is only eleven,
she walks this journey with me—
imagining, planning, and shaping every step.
She often says this is her shop,
and that I work for her.
And in many ways, she is right.
What began with resin became candles.
Candles became soap.
Soap became form, ritual, essence.
Each step was not expansion.
It was alignment.
Today, my work lives at the intersection of chemistry and intention.
I do not only create products.
I build them from origin.
I distill water.
Extract oils.
Dry flowers.
Grow what I can—rosemary, lavender, aloe—
and soon, roses and calendula.
Every element is understood, chosen, and transformed by hand.
Because true luxury is not complexity.
It is purity, control, and meaning.
Luna is not about objects.
It is about presence.
About slowing down.
About turning the ordinary into ritual.
In every piece, there is structure.
In every formula, there is knowledge.
In every creation, there is something unseen—
but deeply felt.
Luna is not just what you hold.
It is what stays with you.
